Grade Levels
GS-1 to GS-15 is the classification of grade utilized for the General Schedule, loosely characterized by the degree of difficulty, responsibility and qualifications necessary for a given job. It is split into fifteen distinct grade level classifications. In the event of an occupation the grade level represents the beginning salary, with higher grades indicating higher amounts of income.

GS Steps

Review of performance is conducted on a regular basis following each performance review.
